BALI, Indonesia — 26 August 2026 — ICEx Group, comprising ICEx (Indonesia Crypto Exchange), CACI (Crypto Asset Clearing International), and ICC (International Crypto Custodian), convened Indonesia’s first institutional-focused roundtable on stablecoins and tokenization through the Institutional Summit Powered by ICEx Group, held on 21 August 2026 in Bali. Designed as an inclusive platform for industry insight and innovation, the Summit brought together regulators, financial institutions, and global partners to move the conversation from discussion to implementation.
Positioned as a first-of-its-kind institutional summit within Coinfest Asia, the Summit brought together market participants, regulators, financial institutions, infrastructure providers, and technology leaders to explore how innovation in digital finance can translate into practical institutional opportunities.
The Summit featured four closed-door sessions, each running for 90 minutes, covering key themes across stablecoins, tokenization, and institutional readiness. Discussions examined the role of stablecoins in corporate payments across Asia, the readiness of institutions to deploy tokenized assets, which real-world assets have the potential to scale, and tokenized money market funds as a potential institutional on-ramp. Insights from these sessions are set to be compiled into a paper, intended to serve as a reference and guideline to relevant industry stakeholders as Indonesia builds out its stablecoin and tokenization framework.
Across all four sessions, a central theme emerged: institutions don’t need more innovation in technology, they need clarity and standardization on infrastructure, settlement, regulation, risk management, liquidity, and operational readiness.
The conversations came at a time of continued growth in Indonesia’s digital-asset market. OJK recorded 22.69 million crypto investors and Rp28.58 trillion in crypto transaction value in June 2026, alongside a sharp global bitcoin rally that saw prices climb from around $65,000 to above $80,000 within the same week.
The Summit brought together senior public-sector voices shaping Indonesia’s financial and digital-asset landscape, including Dr. Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI); Mohamad Hekal, Deputy Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI; Todotua Pasaribu, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry of Indonesia; Adi Budiarso, Chief Executive of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Asset, and Crypto Asset Supervision; and Pantro Pander Silitonga, Executive Director of the National Economic Council.
Pantro Pander Silitonga delivered a keynote addressing Indonesia’s emerging international financial-center agenda and the opportunities it could create for the country’s financial ecosystem.
“Indonesia has an opportunity to become one of Asia’s most important markets for the next generation of financial infrastructure,” said Kai Hamza Pang, Chief Executive Officer of ICEx Group. “We are seeing a large and increasingly sophisticated digital-financial-asset market, while the next opportunity is much broader from stablecoins and tokenized funds to real-world assets. The opportunity is to build the infrastructure, regulatory alignment, and institutional confidence needed to capture that growth responsibly.”
As part of ICEx Group’s broader programme at Coinfest Asia, the Group also marked three strategic collaborations: ICC with Ceffu, ICC with BitGo, and CACI with Bank Nobu. The signings reflect the Group’s continued development of institutional-grade custody and clearing infrastructure alongside global and domestic partners.
The Summit was supported by a broad set of ecosystem partners, including Solana, Bank Nobu, BitGo, Chainalysis, HashKey, Mobee, and Qlola by BRI, alongside Pegadaian and ForU AI. Among them, Solana, HashKey Group, and BitGo stood out for their relevance to the Summit’s themes: Solana as the second-largest blockchain by RWA count (2,599 assets) and third-largest by RWA value ($3.9 billion, per RWA.xyz), HashKey Exchange as the first official distributor of HKDAP, Hong Kong’s first regulated stablecoin, and BitGo as a leading institutional custody provider.
“Institutional adoption requires infrastructure that institutions can trust,” said Abel Seow, BitGo Managing Director. “The conversations at the Institutional Summit reflect the industry’s shift from exploring what is possible to understanding what is required to deploy digital assets securely and at scale.”
Rizky Indraprasto, Finance and Risk Management Director of ICEx Group, moderated the session “Tokenization in Asia: Which Assets Will Actually Scale?”, bringing a financial and risk-management perspective to the discussion.
“The most important question around tokenization is no longer whether assets can be put on-chain. It is whether they can achieve real institutional traction,” said Rizky Indraprasto. “That means looking beyond the technology to liquidity, settlement, regulation, distribution, and the needs of the institutions that will ultimately use these products.”
Through the Institutional Summit, ICEx Group aims to create a platform for meaningful dialogue between regulators, institutions, infrastructure providers, and technology leaders, helping translate emerging digital-finance innovation into practical opportunities for Indonesia and the wider Asian market.
